Create a UTM Source URL for GA4 (2026)

Search demand for “utm source creator” and “utm url generator” is the same job: add utm_source, utm_medium, and utm_campaign to a page you already host, then measure the click in Google Analytics 4. FlashKit’s UTM builder does that in the current tab. It does not host a redirect, does not mint a bit.ly-style code, and does not show a report.
The five parameters, in the order GA4 actually uses
- utm_source — who sent the click:
google,newsletter,qr-menu. This is the field people mean by “UTM source creator.” - utm_medium — the channel:
cpc,email,offline,social. Keep a short, stable list. - utm_campaign — the promotion:
spring-launch,black-friday. - utm_term — optional paid keyword or audience slug.
- utm_content — optional creative:
table-tentvswindow-sticker.
Use lowercase and hyphens. “QR-Menu” and “qr-menu” become two sources in GA4. Spaces get percent-encoded and make reports messy.
Build the URL in this tab
Paste a landing page, set source / medium / campaign, copy the tracked link. Nothing is logged on FlashKit.
Open the UTM builderWorked example (the form’s defaults)
Landing page https://www.example.com/offer, source qr-menu, medium offline, campaign spring-launch, content table-tent. The copied URL is:
https://www.example.com/offer?utm_source=qr-menu&utm_medium=offline&utm_campaign=spring-launch&utm_content=table-tent
Open it once. In GA4 go to Reports → Acquisition → Traffic acquisition, grouped by Session source / medium. Then encode that exact string with the QR generator if you are printing a table tent. A second tent with utm_content=window-sticker is a different creative in the same campaign. The QR tool encodes the string you paste; it does not add a FlashKit redirect.
What not to do
- Do not double-tag Google Ads clicks that already use auto-tagging.
- Do not point a printed QR at a shortener you do not control. If the offer will change, point at a URL you can 301 later.
- Do not paste secret staging URLs on a shared screen. The builder is local; the room is not.
After the campaign ships, a free SEO audit will not show UTM reports — that is GA4. The audit is for titles, canonicals, and broken links on the landing page itself. Preview the share card with the Open Graph debugger before you boost the post.
Frequently asked questions
What is a UTM source URL?
A landing URL plus utm_source (and usually medium and campaign) so GA4 can credit the click. Example: utm_source=qr-menu&utm_medium=offline&utm_campaign=spring-launch.
Does FlashKit track the clicks?
No. The builder only concatenates query parameters in this tab. Your GA4 property records the session after someone opens the link.
Is this a UTM link shortener?
No. The output is the full landing URL plus parameters. Pair it with a static QR, or a short domain you own, if the string is too long for print.
