JSON formatter and validator
Paste JSON, format it with consistent indentation, or minify it for payloads. Validation is JSON.parse in the browser — it catches syntax errors, not whether your schema matches a backend contract.
Safe for tokens you would not paste into a random “cloud formatter.” Still avoid pasting production secrets on a shared screen.
How to Use
- Paste the JSON (or a minified API response).
- Click format to pretty-print, or minify to compact it.
- If validation fails, read the parse error — a trailing comma or unquoted key is the usual cause.
- Copy the result. Do not rely on this page as a JSON Schema checker.
Key Features
- Local parse/format — no upload
- Pretty-print and minify
- Inline syntax errors
- Works offline after the page is loaded
Frequently Asked Questions
Does this validate against a schema?
No. It checks that the text is valid JSON, not that fields match an OpenAPI or JSON Schema file.
Can it format JSON5 or comments?
Standard JSON only. Comments and trailing commas will fail parse.
