Browser screen recorder
The recorder uses the Screen Capture API. Chrome, Edge, and Firefox will ask which screen or tab to share. FlashKit never receives the WebM — it is built from MediaRecorder chunks in this tab.
Picture-in-picture camera is optional. System-audio capture is browser- and OS-dependent (Chromium on desktop is the most reliable). There is no server-side time cap; a long session can fill disk when you save.
How to Use
- Enable camera or mic only if you need them. Grant the browser prompts.
- Start recording and pick the screen, window, or tab. Prefer “this tab” for less flicker.
- Pause if you need a break. Stop when finished.
- Preview and download the WebM. Convert to MP4 locally if a client requires it.
Key Features
- Screen + optional mic and camera
- Local WebM — no FlashKit watermark or upload
- PiP camera when the browser allows it
- No account or cloud minute counter
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the recording uploaded?
No. Chunks live in memory until you download or leave the page. Leaving without downloading loses the take.
Why is there no system audio on macOS Safari?
Safari’s capture support is narrower than Chromium. Use Chrome or Edge, or record system audio with a desktop tool.
Can I record a meeting I do not have rights to?
You are responsible for consent and workplace policy. The tool does not bypass meeting-app restrictions.
