Transparent background maker
A local background-removal model (IMG.LY / ONNX in a worker) estimates the subject and writes a transparent PNG. FlashKit does not receive the photo. The first run downloads model files.
It works best on a single subject with a simple backdrop. Hair, glass, and busy crowds need a manual touch-up in any editor.
How to Use
- Wait for the model to finish downloading on first use.
- Upload a reasonably sized photo (very large files stall phones).
- Run removal and inspect edges. Re-crop or try a cleaner source if the mask leaks.
- Download the PNG. Compress it afterward if you will publish it on the web.
Key Features
- On-device background removal
- PNG with alpha — no FlashKit watermark
- No account
- Pairs with the image compressor for smaller files
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the photo uploaded?
Not to FlashKit. Model weights download from the model host. The bitmap stays in the tab.
Why is the cutout jagged?
Low contrast between subject and background. Use a better source photo or refine the mask in an editor.
What is the practical size limit?
Aim under 10 MB. The worker is in-browser, not a GPU farm.
